We implemented the Program for Youth – Sporting Schools Project from 2013 to 2022 in association with the Directorate of Children and Youth of the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat of the City of Buenos Aires.
The purpose of this initiative was to promote the social inclusion and the full enjoyment of rights of adolescents through their participation in cultural, sporting, formative and technological activities which allows them to visualize, enrich and empower their life projects.
Within this framework, every year we organize several sports teaching modules in Las Heras Center of the Claudio Marangoni School. Each group is composed of children from 13 to 18 years of age, stemming from socially vulnerable homes and residing in the city of Buenos Aires. The teaching includes several different modules, soccer for girls and boys, hockey for girls, mixed gender volleyball, handball, basketball, swimming, tennis and boxing.
The sporting activities are complemented with extracurricular events, which include games, workshops, forums for reflection led by social workers to promote rights, respond to issues and situations which are important to teenagers.
