Rights, values and sporting activities in Bajo Flores

Since august 2022 our team participates in “Cancha de los Paraguayos” located in the Ricciardelli Neighborhood (previously 1-11-14), Bajo Flores, City of Buenos Aires. Our objective is to improve the quality of life and promote social inclusion of children and adolescents living in an environment of social vulnerability in the City of Buenos Aires, through their participation in innovative sporting events developed by means of a cooperative strategy with the Ministry of Public Guardianship and the Council for the Rights of Children and Youth of the aforementioned city.

International Sports Day for Development and Peace

On April 6^th of every year, we celebrate International Sports Day for Development and Peace; this date reinforces the essence of our mission: the use of sports as a tool for change with the objective of strengthening social ties and promoting sustainable growth and peace, as well as solidarity and respect for all people.

In the framework of this ephemeris we combine our activities with games and special events, taking into account the value of sports to empower the lives of children and adolescents.

Canchas en Movimiento – Barrio Mugica, Mataderos, Villa 15, Ciudad de Buenos Aires

In 2022 we began our work in Barrio Mujica, Mataderos, Villa 15, City of Buenos Aires through a cooperative strategy with the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat of the City of Buenos Aires.

The purpose has been to improve the quality of life of the neighborhood residents through sporting activities, games, and active recreational events. With this objective in mind our focus was to position the fields and sporting areas in a way that they could function as meeting places for the residents, fostering long lasting attractive and interesting activities for the community, promoting healthy habits and facilitating the integration of organizations and local representatives.

Move for Fun Argentina

In 2022 we started the Move for Fun Project, a global initiative that promotes active recreational activities for children 6 to 12 years old as a way to improve their health and well-being. To this end, we worked with different grassroots organizations from the Southside of the city of Buenos Aires: Escuelita de Fútbol Mixto Los Piletones (Barrio Piletones), Asociación Mutual La Casa del Bajo Flores (Barrio Rivadavia 1-2, Bajo Flores), Deporte Social Ciudad Oculta (Villa 15-Mataderos), Los Pibes Crecen (Barrio Cildañez) and Tu Espacio (Barrio Ricchiardelli-Bajo Flores).

Our objective is to maximize the efforts of each grassroot organization in their neighborhoods. For this purpose, we transfer pedagogical resources, generate and share educational games and materials, increase available sporting material and generate spaces which allow for exchanging views, plan collaborative actions and share experiences.

NIDOS Villa Soldati y Villa 20

We began the NIDOS Project in 2022, specifically in the Nucleus for the Promotion of Inclusion and Opportunity Development in the neighborhoods of Villa 20 and Villa Soldati. This initiative was carried out through a collaborative process with the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat of the Municipality of the City of Buenos Aires.

The purpose has been to create supportive strategies for children and adolescents through sporting activities. To this end, we developed mixed gender soccer activities and hockey for adolescent girls and boys in the neighborhood of Villa 20 y Villa Soldati, respectively. We assigned areas for meetings and recreational activities, implementing different strategies with the idea of fostering healthy habits in the participants, and implemented interventions when faced with situations related to rights violations.
